This week I'd like to introduce you all to a certain elephant-headed god...

The elephant-headed Ganesha is one of India's most beloved deities.
As the story goes, the goddess Parvati created a small boy out of dust and named him her son. She tasked the boy with guarding the door to her bathing chamber while she bathed. When her husband Shiva arrived home, the boy denied her entry. Enraged, Shiva decapitated the boy-his and Parvati's son.
When Parvati discovered her husband's deed, she was overcome with grief. Shiva sent his warriors out to look for a head to replace that of the boy's. The warriors returned with the head of an elephant-and the head was placed on the shoulders of the decapitated boy. And so therefore was Ganesha born!
Ganesha is said to be "the remover of obstacles" as well as the lord of wisdom and wealth.
It's been said that Ganesha will assist anyone with their path in life, and grant wishes and good luck as well. And while he is a Hindu deity, he is in fact revered all over the world by individuals belonging to all religious groups.
It's not hard at all to see why Ganesha is so well loved not just in India, but worldwide. He is extremely helpful and loving to all who call upon him-he's even helped me several times!
