On The Edge of Gone

WOW. I've just finished reading On The Edge of Gone by autistic author Corinne Duyvis and that's all I can say.
Denise, the protagonist of this book, is a biracial autistic girl living on a generation ship in a post apocalyptic Amsterdam with her transgender sister, and her drug addicted mother.
Read this book-written by an autistic author-and then say that autistic people possess limited intelligence and capabilities. Go on. I dare you.
Denise shows in so many ways what she can do-including one day saving the lives of several from a deadly tsunami, and fighting for her mentally ill, drug addicted mother. As the book goes on, she grows more self assured and confident in herself.
It's people like fictional Denise and this real-life author, Corinne Duyvis, that will force humanity to begin thinking outside of the box. That will pick up and carry the world kicking and screaming into a "New Enlightenment" "New Golden Era" and "New Age of Discovery." If you want to do yourself a favor, READ THIS BOOK.
