This has actually been around for awhile. The Israeli Defense Forces have, in the last several years, begun recruiting autistic soldiers to serve in elite, top secret intelligence units. This positive step seems to be working wonders for young Israeli men and women on the spectrum-autistic servicemen and women of the IDF are reporting a heightened sense of self-esteem and belonging, and many parents of autistic IDF soldiers as well have asserted that they are more at peace now that their sons and daughters are no longer sitting at home. It's high time that our own Department of Defense took a leaf out of Israel's book. What are we waiting for? How many times do I have to say that autistics are absolutely invaluable for cyber security and intel? Why are we still wasting talent-in a day and age when cyber security is becoming everything?
Rumor has it that the Australian Defense Forces have recently begun following in Israel's footsteps and recruiting autistics into intel positions as well!
