Harry Potter Fanfiction

As a child, I was an enormous fan of Harry Potter. I had a "Sorcerer's Stone" computer game that I played for hours on end, and you never forget your first ever vomit flavored jellybean...
A couple of years or so ago, I began to delve into the world of Fanfiction, and I must say, there is a great number of Harry Potter fanfiction that is extremely well written...and, I daresay, better than and more realistic than the books itself.
Much plays on how "Harry was a pawn and Dumbledore was manipulating him all along." Many things mentioned in canon now really start to make you think, such as, for example, were the Weasleys set up and paid to befriend Harry? Was the real plan for Harry to marry Ginny, and then die battling Lord Voldemort so all his money went to them? Why would Molly Weasley be loudly talking about Muggles in a crowded train station? She went to Hogwarts herself and had been sending kids there for years herself, how could she not know? Were they trying to get Harry to notice them? Why were the obstacles leading to the Sorcerer's Stone so easy that a bunch of eleven year olds could easily get through them? Was Dumbledore really as benevolent as he seemed- but was he actually deliberately trying to get Harry to die, therefore destroying the horcrux in his scar, so he himself could take down Voldemort and be hailed as a hero? WOW! Really makes you think.
Then of course there is the matter of the Dursleys-did Harry really have to keep going back there because of blood wards that protected him from Voldemort, or was there another reason? Did Dumbledore know how badly they treated them, but wanted him abused so he would grow up fearful and shameful, and only want to please? As someone who was a victim of emotional child abuse, I totally know what it feels like-and what people abused and shamed as children are like. What about Sirius Black-Harry's godfather? Did Dumbledore actually deny him a trial, and have him locked up in Azkaban-patrolled by dementors, which make the strongest wizards go insane-because he would have taken Harry away from the Dursleys if he was declared innocent of murder (which he was!) and allowed to go free? Because Harry would have had a LIFE with him, unlike with the Dursleys?
Some really make you think! Of course there are the ones where Harry grows sick of being used as a pawn, snaps, and goes over to the Dark Side, serving alongside Lord Voldemort. There are also ones that follows up on the Dursleys-more often than not, Harry is able to reconcile with Petunia and Dudley at least, if not Vernon.
One I definitely recommend is Harry Potter and the Knight of Mann-a female knight from the Isle of Mann comes to Hogwarts, befriends Harry, and gets him to realize that he's not who and what he seems to be! Especially recommended if you're a Celtic pagan!
