First of all, this movie is bleeding hilarious, and second of all, it just goes to show that we ALL possess certain abilities and disabilities. Raymond (aka Rain Man) is initially thought to be severely mentally challenged, however it turns out that he can memorize the phone book in a night, tell the exact number of toothpicks that fell out of the toothpick box onto the floor and easily multiply seven-digit numbers in his head (can he PLEASE be my math tutor?!!) Are there things he can't do? Yes. But are there things that he CAN do? Yes...and many of those things most people could never even attempt to do!
This guy is far from challenged or retarded-his IQ is almost certainly waaay higher than his brother's- but unfortunately people don't tend to see that. They see what they want to see-an individual that will never be able to make any kind of impact on society. Someone who stares off into space, mumbles to himself, and throws screaming tantrums.
But in cases of people like Rain Man, how can we get people to see the brilliant individuals that they truly are? As I said, this guy is an enigma. Watch this movie if you haven't-or just watch it again! Even if you just want a laugh. It's HILARIOUS.
P.S. I WANT CHARLIE AND RAIN MAN'S BLOODY CAR.
Of course it's five minutes to American Dad now. Oh boy...
