I've recommended Tracie Peterson's Heirs of Montana series before, now I'd like to chime in with a recommendation for her latest series: Heart of the Frontier, which centers around the three Flanagan sisters, Grace, Hope, and Mercy. These books deal with the trauma of the aftermath of the massacre at the Whitman Mission, and learning to love, forgive, and move on. Keep in mind there is dark subject matter, such as killings, rape, unwanted pregnancies, but still very inspiring and a worthwhile read for those who are going through trying times.
Also, three words: Irish Pioneer Girls. Nuff said.
